At PropertyDheko, your privacy matters. We built this policy to be readable, not legalese. If anything is unclear, please email us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, phone number, and college when you register or submit inquiries. We also collect property details submitted by owners, including address, photos, pricing, and amenities. We automatically collect usage data including pages visited, search queries, and device information to improve our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: create and maintain your account; connect students with property owners; send booking confirmations and notifications; improve search results and recommendations; ensure platform safety and fraud prevention; and comply with legal obligations. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Information Sharing
When you contact a property owner, your name and phone number are shared with that owner. Property owners' contact details are shown on their listings. We may share aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data for analytics. We share data with service providers (hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and Supabase Row-Level Security policies ensuring users can only access their own data. Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments are performed. However, no system is 100% secure and we encourage strong passwords.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies help us understand how you use the platform (you can opt out). We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookie settings in your browser, though disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.
6. Your Rights
You may access, update, or delete your personal information at any time from your Profile Settings. You can request a full data export or account deletion by contacting trust@propertydheko.in. We respond to all requests within 30 days. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained longer. Lead and booking records are retained for 2 years for legal and dispute resolution purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
PropertyDheko is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
